The Old Town Hall, Margate


Margate Museum is now being managed by Thanet District Council.  Bob Bradley has been appointed Custodian on a short-term basis.  The museum is open to researchers (please telephone before visiting) who wish to make use of the research archive, the Dr Alan Kay archive, the Sunbeam photo collection and the local newspaper collection.

Enquiries from schools regarding visits to the school with WW1 or WW2 artefacts and presentations are welcomed.  The museum cannot at present take visitors but it is planned that pre-booked group visits will be available in the New Year.

Margate Museum is situated in the historic Old Town Hall in Margate, Kent.  The museum houses many exhibits relating to the history of Margate and the surrounding area, including the town's background as one of the first seaside resorts.
